Today was Day 4 of Elk Grove Adventure Boot Camp for me. I'm not as sore as last week and I certainly didn't baby my very tired and sore muscles over the weekend. I instead walked on sand at the beach and all around Santa Cruz and S.F from about 11:30am to 8:30pm (except the drive itself from SC to SF) I was sure tired but I could tell my legs didn't want to be stiff by sitting around all day. Just when I thought I couldn't do more walking, I could. I'll admit, the trip was already planned and I had no idea how I was going to feel. But I worked through it, and I'm sure I looked funny sometimes when walking and standing up from a seated position.
ReplyDeleteIt's empowering to work and push through the muscle pain and stiffness because once they are warmed up they are in fact still going to perform. Day 2 and 3 were a very good example of that. I didn't know at all on day 3 how I was going to do any jogging or squats, but I did. It was harder, but I could do it if I tried.
I think overall, moving and staying active was the better thing to do after 3 days of adventure boot camp.
I felt great this Monday morning with hardly any muscles barking at me. I have increased energy already and love the outdoor options and the change up in exercises. Just when I thought today wasn't too bad, by mid afternoon I was starting to feel the different areas that had been worked and stretched out today. I have a two story home and every time I go up a level I am quickly reminded of my workouts.
I'm ready for the rest of the week and already used to the earlier wake up time. I have to say changing your wake up time the same week as daylight savings time was sort of like self torture. The first day of boot camp I was so tired, I went back to bed! Looking forward to results and a more stronger body!
